A Ducati motorcycle is by definition a very special machine, a combination of simple elegant design and lightweight with the benefit of Desmodromic valve gear and the very latest in racing technology. Their unique quality, on both road and track has been their tractability and ease of use, this needs above all else a bike set up to the riders preferences; from seating position to engine powerband, suspension, chassis and brakes. We at Sigma believe that we can bring the best out of a Ducati.

The complexity of the unique Desmodromic valve system and the unusual layout of the overall design means that racing requires a much higher level of technical expertise in the team than just about any other make. Our philosophy on the racetrack is to provide the rider with very useable power in a well-sorted chassis in the belief that this would be more useful, 'less is more', it is a philosophy we are bringing to production bikes.

A good bike is far better than the sum of its parts.

The Monster Check up
£250+parts

2 Valve Monsters are nice simple bikes; they do not need that much care to keep them running well but they do react well to a bit more attention than the standard service schedule would have you believe. This is our version of the standard 6000 mile service. We do everything the schedule requires plus we reset the valve clearances to the ones Ducati used to recommend (which stops most of that irritating rough running down low), check the alternator for tightness and balance everything to perfection. We recommend new belts, spark plugs, oil and filters.

The SIGMA Ducati Slipper Clutch
£540 for the 12 tooth basket version (Uses standard plates, not included)
£680 for the latest 48 tooth basket version (plates included)

Worth a second a lap on a racetrack this clutch allows higher corner entry speeds with all that annoying rear wheel chatter under hard braking completely eliminated. 1kg lighter than the parts it replaces, it also allows the engine to pick up revs quicker.

There are two versions; the 12 tooth which comes with a new alloy clutch basket, pressure plate and centre with a '6 ball bearing' ramp mechanism in the centre. Uses original or SPS clutch packs and the original springs to retain the original progressive clutch feel.

The second has the same mechanism but uses a 48 tooth basket and plates set. This is quieter and takes higher power outputs more easily.

Full fitting and set-up instructions (in English!!) are included. Anodised in a fetching and very, very tough 'Military Grey' with a new ceramic reinforced red pressure plate and all posts and fittings in stainless steel. Fitted free if ordered as part of a Full Monty. Both clutches fit all bikes with aircooled clutches since 1990.
